Bed linen set collection made
of premium Mulberry silk
Silk bed linen shows the beauty of the fabric, its special tenderness and softness. Luxurious lustrous silk is the choice of kings and emperors. For centuries, only the upper classes were able to possess such a material.
Silk fibers have a triangular cross-section and just like a prism, they refract light, which creates a characteristic shimmer and luster. No other fabric can replicate the special sheen of natural silk. Silk bed linen is considered to be premium textile.
The production of silk fabric is a complex process, which involves a lot of manual labor. To get the fibers, cocoons are manually collected, sorted by color and size, then soaked in hot water to dissolve the protein glue that binds the silk threads together. The cocoons are then unwound, and the resulting thinnest silk filaments, resembling fine spider webs, are spun into twisted threads.
No chemicals are used during the Mulberry silk processing, so it retains all the valuable natural properties and useful microelements.
Mulberry is the most beautiful long fiber silk and is recognized as the best variety. It is made from the cocoons of domesticated silkworms, which do not live in the wild but are raised on farms instead, where they are cared for and fed with only white mulberry leaves. Thanks to such a diet silkworms produce large and dense cocoons with the best quality filaments. Mulberry silk fibers are very long: their average length is 1000 to 1200 meters. This delicate snow-white silk with a pearly luster is used to make the most beautiful textile and it does not need to be bleached.
Natural silk is beautiful, soft and pleasant to the touch. It is perfectly breathable and absorbs moisture.
Silk textile is able to maintain a comfortable body temperature in any weather, as the fabric has pronounced climate control properties. You will be comfortable sleeping on such linen even in hot summer.
Despite its apparent softness and tenderness, a silk thread is very strong.
Silk fibers are beneficial for health as they contain valuable microelements: proteins, amino acids, sodium, potassium. The composition of a silk thread is close to that of a human hair, so it is an absolutely hypoallergenic material. Silk filaments also have an amazing antibacterial property, preventing the bacteria reproduction. Delicate silk bed linen is perfect for people with very sensitive skin.
Togas collection of silk bed linen includes jacquard patterned sets and a line of smooth satin silk for connoisseurs of its delicate luster. There are also sets made of silk combined with practical cotton, which increases the resistance of the fabric to wear and tear.
Jacquard sets are decorated with classic arabesque, paisley and damask patterns. These sets are made on sophisticated Jacquard machines where the ornaments are woven directly on the silk fabric and give it a beautiful texture. Jacquard fabric is not only gorgeous, but also durable. There are also monochrome sets made of satin silk with a slight luster. Monochrome sets emphasize the smoothness and sheen of the fabric not overshadowing its beauty, because Mulberry silk is the most elegant and delicate material.
There is a classification for Mulberry silk where A-class is the best one, and that is what all Togas bed linen is made of. It is premium textile. The quality and density of a silk fabric is measured in mommes (1 momme = 4.34 g/m²). The higher the number, the denser and more durable the silk fabric will be. The density of silk used in the Togas collection varies from 19 to 24 mommes, which indicates the high quality and long service life of all sets.
Silk is a very delicate material that requires attention and care. Silk bed linen should avoid bright sun, moisture and high temperatures. It can be washed at home at a temperature below 30°C, using delicate wash cycle without pre-soaking. The use of aggressive detergents on this delicate fabric is prohibited.
